OK... ok ok there's more to it than that. But it is high time we recognize that sweeping innovations are ALWAYS the result of immersion in the contemporary environment. Sure, some jumps are bigger than others, but no innovation can exist without the thing it is innovating.
There's no boiling water without the recognition of fire and containers.
I'm not saying the best marketer shouldn't get rich - just that all the people assembling the widgets should also have food & shelter & water too!
Mechanized Milling - the start of American Prosperity, but not without problems.
So enjoy your bread - but can we make sure there's bread for all?
