1 Samuel 3: Dios busca un corazón justo.

1 Samuel 3:1-14
El joven Samuel servía al SEÑOR delante de Elí. La palabra del SEÑOR escaseaba en aquellos días, y no había visiones con frecuencia. Pero aconteció cierto día, mientras Elí (cuyos ojos habían comenzado a debilitarse, de modo que no podía ver) estaba acostado en su aposento y Samuel dormía en el templo del SEÑOR donde estaba el arca de Dios, y antes que la lámpara de Dios fuera apagada, el SEÑOR llamó a Samuel, y él respondió: —Heme aquí.
Y corrió a Elí diciendo: —Heme aquí. ¿Para qué me has llamado?
Elí respondió: —Yo no te he llamado. Vuelve a acostarte.
Él se volvió y se acostó, y el SEÑOR volvió a llamar: —¡Samuel!
Samuel se levantó, fue a Elí y dijo: —Heme aquí. ¿Para qué me has llamado?
Elí respondió: —Hijo mío, yo no te he llamado. Vuelve a acostarte.
Samuel todavía no conocía al SEÑOR ni la palabra del SEÑOR le había sido aún revelada. El SEÑOR llamó por tercera vez a Samuel; y él se levantó, fue a Elí y dijo: —Heme aquí. ¿Para qué me has llamado?
Entonces Elí entendió que el SEÑOR llamaba al joven. Y Elí dijo a Samuel: —Ve y acuéstate; y sucederá que si te llama, dirás: “Habla, oh SEÑOR, que tu siervo escucha”.
Samuel se fue y se acostó en su sitio. Entonces vino el SEÑOR, se paró y llamó como las otras veces: —¡Samuel, Samuel!
Samuel respondió: —Habla, que tu siervo escucha.
Y el SEÑOR dijo a Samuel: —He aquí, yo voy a hacer algo en Israel, que a quien lo escuche le retiñirán ambos oídos. Aquel día cumpliré contra Elí, de principio a fin, todas las cosas que he hablado contra su casa. Yo le he declarado que juzgaré a su casa para siempre, por la iniquidad que él conoce; porque sus hijos han blasfemado contra Dios, y él no les ha reprochado. Por tanto, he jurado a la casa de Elí que la iniquidad de su casa jamás será expiada ni con sacrificios ni con ofrendas.

Aquí vemos el momento decisivo donde Dios comenzaba una nueva etapa en la vida espiritual de su pueblo. Este es el momento crucial donde Dios levantó a un joven que estaba dispuesto a servir al Señor, a pesar del ambiente oscuro en el que estaba rodeado.
En un tiempo difícil donde los líderes espirituales ya no oían la voz de Dios ni sentían la presencia de Dios, Samuel continuaba realizando sus tareas cotidianas en el servicio del templo del Señor, aunque no había tenido un encuentro con Dios ni había tenido una experiencia sobrenatural de la manifestación de Dios en el templo o en su vida.
Es así cómo Dios vió su perseverancia en mantenerse limpio y apartado de los malos ejemplos de los hijos de Elí, vió su obediencia al consejo de su padres, vió el respeto hacia el sacerdote Elí, y vió su corazón noble cuando Dios mismo lo llamó en una noche.
Es curioso pensar que la voz de Dios no fue como un trueno o trompeta, sino que fue una voz tan suave y sutil que se asemejaba a la del anciano Elí.
Tres veces lo llamó Dios porque Samuel confundió la voz de Dios con la de Elí; y fue Elí quien entendió que Dios lo estaba llamando y le enseñó a Samuel cómo responder a la voz de Dios porque él no sabía cómo.
Dios dejó de hablar con Elí porque no disciplinó, no reprochó a sus hijos cuando pecaban robándose las ofrendas del Señor.
Dios no encontró un corazón dispuesto dentro de la casa de Elí para recibir revelación de Dios por medio de visiones, pero lo encontró en un niño que fue dedicado por otra familia de levitas diferente y que fue adoptado en el templo para su servicio.

Este es un gran ejemplo de que para Dios no hay límites cuando Él quiere hacer Su voluntad. Escoge lo que a Él le plazca, pues Dios mira el corazón. No existe nombre ni apellido, no existen posiciones o títulos. Dios no tiene ningún inconveniente para usar a cualquier persona que tenga un corazón justo, puro y dispuesto para revelarle por medio de visiones y sueños sus planes y propósitos divinos para ellos, sus familias y sus congregaciones.
¡Levántate como Samuel! Dedica tu vida al Señor, y te garantizo que el Señor comenzará a hablar a tu generación de forma extraordinaria.
No seamos como Elí que dejó que la monotonía y el conformismo lo hiciera perder una comunicación directa con Dios. No seamos como los hijos de Elí que pisoteaban lo sagrado y lo menospreciaban.
Seamos como Samuel que, aunque le faltaba conocer más de Dios, iba por buen camino practicando el bien, obedeciendo a la Palabra de Dios y haciendo lo que es correcto. ¡¡Así fue que se convirtió en el candidato perfecto elegido por Dios para traer un avivamiento en Israel!!

1 Samuel 3: God seeks a righteous heart.

1 Samuel 3:1-14:
Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation. And it came to pass at that time, while Eli was lying down in his place, and when his eyes had begun to grow so dim that he could not see, and before the lamp of God went out in the tabernacle of the Lord where the ark of God was, and while Samuel was lying down, that the Lord called Samuel. And he answered, “Here I am!” So he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.”
And he said, “I did not call; lie down again.” And he went and lay down.
Then the Lord called yet again, “Samuel!”
So Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” He answered, “I did not call, my son; lie down again.” (Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, nor was the word of the Lord yet revealed to him.)
And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. So he arose and went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you did call me.”
Then Eli perceived that the Lord had called the boy. Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.’ ” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!”
And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.”
Then the Lord said to Samuel: “Behold, I will do something in Israel at which both ears of everyone who hears it will tingle. In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end. For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knows, because his sons made themselves vile, and he did not restrain them. And therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.”

Here we see the decisive moment where God began a new stage in the spiritual life of His people. This is the crucial moment where God raised up a young man who was willing to serve the Lord, despite the dark environment in which he was surrounded.
In a difficult time when the spiritual leaders no longer heard the voice of God or felt the presence of God, Samuel continued to carry out his daily tasks in the service of the temple of the Lord, although he had not had an encounter with God or had a supernatural experience of the manifestation of God in the temple or in his life.
This is how God saw his perseverance in staying clean and away from the bad examples of Eli's sons, He saw his obedience to the advice of his parents, saw the respect towards the priest Eli, and saw his noble heart when God Himself called him in one night.
It is curious to think that the voice of God was not like a thunder or trumpet, but it was a voice so soft and subtle that it resembled that of old Eli.
Three times God called him because Samuel mistook God's voice for Eli's; and it was Eli who understood that God was calling him and taught Samuel how to respond to God's voice because he didn't know how.
God stopped talking to Eli because he did not discipline, he did not reproach his sons when they sinned by stealing the Lord's offerings.
God did not find a willing heart within the house of Eli to receive revelation from God through visions, but He did find one in a child who was dedicated by a different family of Levites and who was adopted into the temple for their service.

This is a great example that for God there are no limits when He wants to do His will. He chooses what He pleases, because God looks at the heart. There is no name or surname, there are no positions or titles. God has no objection to using any person who has a righteous, pure and willing heart to reveal to him through visions and dreams His divine plans and purposes for them, their families and their congregations.
Rise up like Samuel! Dedicate your life to the Lord, and I guarantee that the Lord will begin to speak to your generation in an extraordinary way.
Let's not be like Eli who let monotony and conformism make him lose direct communication with God. Let us not be like the sons of Eli who trampled on the sacred and despised it.
Let us be like Samuel who, although he still needed to know more about God, was on the right track practicing good, obeying the Word of God and doing what is right. So it was that he became the perfect candidate chosen by God to bring a revival in Israel!!
