1 Samuel 30: Corre a Dios, aun cuando hayas perdido todo.
1 Samuel 30:1-10:
Cuando David y sus hombres llegaron a Siclag al tercer día, los amalequitas habían hecho una incursión en el Néguev y en Siclag. Habían atacado Siclag y la habían incendiado. También se habían llevado cautivas a las mujeres y a todos los que estaban en ella, desde el menor hasta el mayor. Pero no mataron a nadie, sino que los tomaron cautivos y siguieron su camino.
David y sus hombres llegaron a la ciudad, y he aquí que estaba incendiada y que sus mujeres, sus hijos y sus hijas habían sido llevados cautivos. Entonces David y la gente que estaba con él alzaron su voz y lloraron hasta que les faltaron las fuerzas para llorar. También habían sido tomadas cautivas las dos mujeres de David, Ajinoam, de Jezreel, y Abigaíl, que fuera mujer de Nabal, de Carmel. David estaba muy angustiado, porque el pueblo hablaba de apedrearlo. Todo el pueblo estaba con ánimo amargado, cada uno por causa de sus hijos y de sus hijas. Pero David se fortaleció en el SEÑOR su Dios. Entonces David dijo al sacerdote Abiatar hijo de Ajimelec: —Tráeme, por favor, el efod.
Abiatar trajo el efod a David, y David consultó al SEÑOR diciendo: —¿He de perseguir a esa banda? ¿La podré alcanzar?
Y el SEÑOR le respondió: —Persíguela, porque de cierto la alcanzarás y librarás a los cautivos.
Entonces David partió con los seiscientos hombres que estaban con él, y llegaron hasta el arroyo de Besor, donde se quedaron algunos de ellos. Pero David continuó persiguiendo, él con cuatrocientos hombres, porque doscientos se quedaron atrás, los cuales estaban muy agotados para pasar el arroyo de Besor.

Este capítulo fue crucial en la vida de David. Cuando él regresa del campo de batalla, rechazado por los generales filisteos, se encuentra con la trágica escena de ver sus casas quemadas, destruidas por el fuego, todas sus pertenencias robadas y sus familias, esposas e hijos secuestrados por los amalecitas. Esto sucedió como consecuencia de vivir en el lugar equivocado. Lo que él hacía con otras ciudades, lo estaba cosechando en su propia villa.
Esto causó una explosion de emociones dolorosas. ¡Todos sus soldados, unos 600 hombres, lloraron a fuerte voz hasta que sus fuerzas se acabaron! Después del llanto, pasaron al resentimiento, buscando culpables de su tragedia.
En ese momento David vio la ira en los ojos de ellos, hasta hablaban de apedrearlo. Ellos vieron que sus vidas se habían acabado, que habían vuelto a su miseria que habían dejado años atrás gracias al apoyo de David, y esta tragedia los encegueció, al punto de querer eliminar al que les había devuelto la vida anteriormente.
Entonces David saca fuerzas de la debilidad y llama al sacerdote para consultar a Dios como lo había hecho anteriormente. David estaba al borde de la locura y de la muerte, pero también él conocía al Dios misericordioso y milagroso, Aquel que tiene la última palabra, el que devuelve lo que perdemos, nos ayuda a restaurar lo destruido, el que revela cuando nuestra mente está nublada.

Este ejemplo nos ilustra lo que significa el salirse de la voluntad de Dios. Los sufrimientos innecesarios vienen a nuestras vidas como consecuencias. También podemos aprender que, cuando eres elegido por Dios y Dios tiene propósitos contigo, el Señor te dará la salida en el momento de la prueba, para volver a retomar el plan de Dios en tu vida y Dios te devolverá lo que perdiste. Dios tornará esa situación difícil y mortal en una experiencia donde la mano de Dios se manifiesta con poder, siempre y cuando busquemos al Señor con actitud de arrepentimiento, humillación, entrega y completa dependencia de Su voluntad, por más difícil e imposible que sea el panorama que vemos. Tu futuro se irá aclarando a medida que sigas la dirección de Dios.
Dios escuchó la oración de David, le ordenó que los persiguiera, que Dios se los entregaría en sus manos, y que ellos recuperarían todo lo que sus enemigos tomaron.
David obedeció, salió con 400 soldados que tenían fuerzas suficientes; Dios les puso en el camino un egipcio moribundo y David tomó el tiempo para socorrerlo, y resultó que él era el personaje clave que los guió hacia el campamento de los secuestradores.
David los sorprendió, los atacó y recuperó a sus familias y pertenencias. Además, tomaron muchísimo botín de guerra, riquezas que compartieron con los de la tribu de Judá y los israelitas.

1 Samuel 30:1-10:
Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire, and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way. So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive. Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep. And David’s two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite, had been taken captive. Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God. Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David. So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?”
And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”
So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to the Brook Besor, where those stayed who were left behind. But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so weary that they could not cross the Brook Besor.

This chapter was crucial in the life of David. When he returned from the battlefield, repulsed by the Philistine generals, he is met with the tragic scene of seeing their houses burned, destroyed by fire, all their belongings stolen and their families, wives and children kidnapped by the Amalekites. This happened as a consequence of living in the wrong place. What he was doing with other cities, he was harvesting in his own town.
This caused an explosion of painful emotions. All his soldiers, about 600 men, cried loudly until their strength was gone! After crying, they turned to resentment, looking for blame for their tragedy.
At that moment David saw the anger in their eyes, they even talked about stoning him. They saw that their lives were over, that they had returned to their misery that they had left years before thanks to David's support, and this tragedy blinded them, to the point of wanting to eliminate the one who had brought them back to life before.
So David draws strength from weakness and calls the priest to consult God as he had done before. David was on the verge of madness and death, but he also knew the merciful and miraculous God, the One who has the last word, the One who returns what we lose, helps us restore what has been destroyed, the One who reveals when our mind is cloudy.

This example illustrates what it means to get out of God's will. Unnecessary sufferings come into our lives as consequences. We can also learn that, when you are chosen by God and God has purposes with you, the Lord will give you the way out at the time of trial, to resume God's plan in your life and God will give you back what you lost. God will turn that difficult and deadly situation into an experience where the hand of God is manifested with power, as long as we seek the Lord with an attitude of repentance, humiliation, surrender and complete dependence on His will, no matter how difficult and impossible the panorama we see may be. Your future will become clearer as you follow God's lead.
God heard David's prayer, commanded him to pursue them, that God would deliver them into their hands, and that they would take back everything their enemies took.
David obeyed, he went out with 400 soldiers who had sufficient forces; God put a dying Egyptian on their way and David took the time to help him, and it turned out that he was the key figure who led them to the camp of the kidnappers.
David surprised them, attacked them and recovered their families and belongings. In addition, they took a lot of spoils of war, riches that they shared with those of the tribe of Judah and the Israelites.
