This Tactical Tuesday conversation highlights the limitations of using job titles as a search term when looking for candidates — and introduces better ways to source talent.

Job titles are not always indicative of the specific skills, experience, and responsibilities of a candidate — and often, they're more of a representation of where the candidate is than we're they're going.

There are other issues, too, like the fact that companies often use creative job titles that may not accurately represent the role, and job titles can vary widely between companies — making it difficult to compare candidates. Vivien's recommendation is that instead of relying on job titles, recruiters should use Boolean search and filters to find candidates based on specific skills and experiences.
