WORK/LIFE BALANCE
Jade Harrell with David W. Ballard, PsyD, MBA, Assistant Executive Director for Organizational Excellence, American Psychological Association to discuss the American Psychological Association’s 2015 Work-Life Survey.
The Work-Life Survey was conducted online within the United States by Harris Poll on behalf of the American Psychological Association on July 14 to 16, 2015 among 902 adults age 18 and older who reside in the U.S. and are employed full time or part time.
The survey explores:
· Access to and use of flexible work arrangements;
· How work intrudes in non-work time and vice versa;
· The relationship between work-life fit and employee engagement;
· How people manage the boundaries between their work and non-work lives;
· The impact of work-life issues on overall life satisfaction and job-related outcomes (e.g., motivation, job satisfaction, turnover intent);
· Differences by age, gender, and parental status; and
· Whether strong work and family identities are compatible in today’s workplace.
