Gregory A. Hedger is traveler, educator, and Director of the International School of Yangon in the most populous city of Myanmar.
In the summer of 2022 Greg and his son Max will attempt to canoe the length of the Mississippi River, a journey they expect to take around 70 days. Their trip is raising funds to support local children in Myanmar by constructing and funding a rural school and supporting a local orphanage.
We talk traveling the world, expectations for Thru paddling the Mississippi, relationship with Max and the River, traveling and living in Myanmar, Pakistan, Venezuela, Cayman Islands, Qatar, what we gain from seeking new cultures and people, the balance of working in conflict areas, and more.
