On this episode, Paige chats with incredibly kind and talented artist, Kelsey Howard. Kelsey shares her incredible journey of finding purpose and fulfillment from nursing school, to operating room nurse life, to full time artist.

Kelsey chats about how growing up, she was surrounded by family members that were in medicine. Painting was her passion, but she never really considered art as a career path because she was afraid of failing as an artist. Paige and Kelsey discuss how during their time at school, societal standards didn't support art as a career worth pursuing. Feeling inspired by family in medicine, and her interest in helping others, Kelsey made the decision to enroll in nursing school and become a nurse.

Being a nurse gave Kelsey a sense of purpose. She loved helping the doctors and patients in the operating room. Kelsey shares her experience working in the OR, and although she enjoyed certain aspects of her job, she never felt 100% fulfilled. In search for a sense of fulfillment, Kelsey decides to move closer to home and pursue a different type of nursing job. After moving closer to home and changing nurses jobs a few more times, she realized that just because she was interested in nursing didn't necessarily mean she had to peruse a career in it. Kelsey came to the realization that the one thing that would give her a true sense of self and make her feel fulfilled was painting and her art.
