I am entertaining the conspiracy theory that the current proliferation of mass shootings is being specifically caused by potential mass-shooters being tortured through their cellphones. This ugly conspiracy theory imagines sadistic professionals scientifically violating potential mass-shooters through their phones, until they have reached a psychotic rage wherein mass-shooting seems appropriate. The professional's objective is to engineer gun-control by giving the public a steady stream of mass-shooters... It is frighteningly easy to populate this conspiracy theory theory with people I have known, and with facts I have lived. I really hope it is just a conspiracy theory, and I would love to hear anyone's response to this idea.
