Trauma is the psychological term but I think that Soul Disconnect is closer to the truth.

It induces fear and now you’re acting out of fear. So without knowing it, your whole life is regulated by fear and pain that you’re trying to escape from in various ways. Trauma is not what happens to you, it’s what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you." - Gabor Mate
