AEW confirms that they have become a legitimate competitor to WWE, whether WWE fans like it or not. Plus, KOP briefly reviews NWA75 which saw new champions in EC3, Kenzie Page, Thrillbilly Silas Mason and Colby Corino, and we look at Impact Wrestling Emergence.
In the heart of London, the iconic Wembley Stadium roared with excitement as over 81,000 passionate fans filled its seats for a night that would be etched into wrestling history forever. AEW All In 2023 had arrived, promising a lineup of electrifying matches that would leave fans on the edge of their seats.
The evening kicked off with an intense tag team clash, as the dynamic duo of MJF and Adam Cole took on the reigning champions, Aussie Open (Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher), for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. The two teams battled ferociously, but in the end, MJF and Cole managed to secure victory with a pinfall, dethroning the champions and claiming the gold.
The intensity only escalated as Hook stepped into the squared circle to face off against the reigning FTW Champion, Jack Perry. The match was contested under FTW Rules, adding an element of unpredictability. In a hard-fought encounter, Hook managed to overcome Perry's resilience, snatching the FTW Championship in a fierce showdown.
The audience was treated to an epic clash of legends next, as CM Punk defended his "Real World Championship" against the relentless Samoa Joe. The two ring veterans left no stone unturned in their pursuit of victory, but it was Punk who emerged victorious, managing to retain his title.
A six-man tag team match followed, pitting Konosuke Takeshita and Bullet Club Gold (Juice Robinson and Jay White) against The Golden Elite (Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega, and "Hangman" Adam Page). The match was a rollercoaster of high-flying maneuvers and calculated teamwork, but ultimately, Takeshita and Bullet Club Gold managed to secure the win, much to the disappointment of The Golden Elite and their loyal fans.
The rivalry between FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) reached its apex in a battle for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. The four teams unleashed their finest tactics, leaving the crowd in awe. When the dust settled, FTR emerged victorious, successfully defending their tag team gold in a thrilling encounter.
As the night grew darker, the atmosphere grew more intense with a Stadium Stampede match that saw chaos erupt between two formidable teams. Eddie Kingston, Orange Cassidy, Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta), and Penta El Zero Miedo faced off against Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta), Mike Santana, and Ortiz. The stadium itself became the battleground, as competitors fought through the crowds and utilized every corner of the venue to their advantage. In the end, it was Eddie Kingston's team that emerged triumphant, securing a victory in this wild and unpredictable contest.
The women took center stage next, as Saraya, Hikaru Shida, Toni Storm, and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. clashed in a four-way match for the AEW Women's World Championship. The match was a display of skill, determination, and sheer willpower. In a surprising turn of events, Saraya emerged as the victor, capturing the championship amidst a stunned crowd.
The tension continued to rise with a Coffin match, where Darby Allin and Sting teamed up to take on Swerve Strickland and Christian Cage, with Prince Nana in their corner. Coffins played a central role in this eerie encounter, and it was Allin and Sting who managed to seal their opponents inside, claiming a chilling victory.
The intensity reached its pinnacle in a clash between Will Ospreay, accompanied by Don Callis, and Chris Jericho, who had Sammy Guevara in his corner. The match was a back-and-forth struggle, showcasing the technical prowess of both competitors. Ultimately, it was Ospreay who emerged victorious, adding another chapter to his rivalry with Jericho.
The night wasn't over yet, as Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) challenged House of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, and Brody King) for the AEW World Trios Championship in a House Rules No Holds Barred six-man tag team match. The chaos spilled beyond the confines of traditional rules, and in a fierce battle, Gunn and The Acclaimed managed to secure the gold, ending House of Black's reign.
The grand finale of the evening saw MJF, now the AEW World Champion, defending his title against Adam Cole. The two elite competitors engaged in a fierce showdown, with both leaving everything in the ring. In a climactic moment, MJF managed to secure a pinfall victory, solidifying his reign as the AEW World Champion.
