📖 Apocalipsis 2:8‭-‬21 RVA2015:
“Escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Esmirna: El primero y el último, el que estuvo muerto y vivió, dice estas cosas: Yo conozco tu tribulación y tu pobreza —aunque eres rico—, y la blasfemia de los que dicen ser judíos y no lo son; más bien, son sinagoga de Satanás. No tengas ningún temor de las cosas que has de padecer. He aquí, el diablo va a echar a algunos de ustedes en la cárcel para que sean probados, y tendrán tribulación por diez días. Sé fiel hasta la muerte, y yo te daré la corona de la vida. “El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias. El que venza, jamás recibirá daño de la muerte segunda.

“Escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Pérgamo: El que tiene la espada aguda de dos filos dice estas cosas: Yo conozco dónde habitas: donde está el trono de Satanás. Y retienes mi nombre y no has negado mi fe, aun en los días de Antipas, mi testigo fiel, quien fue muerto entre ustedes, donde mora Satanás. “Sin embargo, tengo unas pocas cosas contra ti: que tienes allí a algunos que se adhieren a la doctrina de Balaam, que enseñaba a Balac a poner tropiezo delante de los hijos de Israel, a comer de lo sacrificado a los ídolos y a cometer inmoralidad sexual. Asimismo, tú también tienes a los que se adhieren a la doctrina de los nicolaítas, Por tanto, ¡arrepiéntete! Pues de lo contrario vendré pronto a ti y pelearé contra ellos con la espada de mi boca. “El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias. Al que venza le daré de comer del maná escondido, y le daré una piedrecita blanca y en la piedrecita un nombre nuevo escrito, que nadie conoce sino el que lo recibe.

“Escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Tiatira: El Hijo de Dios, que tiene sus ojos como llama de fuego y sus pies semejantes al bronce bruñido, dice estas cosas: Yo conozco tus obras, tu amor, tu fidelidad, tu servicio y tu perseverancia; y que tus últimas obras son mejores que las primeras. “Sin embargo, tengo contra ti que toleras a la mujer Jezabel, que dice ser profetisa, y enseña y seduce a mis siervos a cometer inmoralidad sexual, y a comer lo sacrificado a los ídolos. Le he dado tiempo para que se arrepienta, y no quiere arrepentirse de su inmoralidad.

En los próximos dos capítulos vamos a aprender sobre las reconocidas siete iglesias del Apocalipsis. Son iglesias que existieron en la época de Juan y que a la misma vez representan el estado espiritual de cualquier congregación o persona en su relación con Dios.
En este capítulo encontramos los mensajes a las primeras cuatro iglesias: Éfeso, Esmirna, Pérgamo y Tiatira; y en el capítulo de hoy les he leído sobre la condición de 3 de ellas.
Para que entiendas los mensajes a estas iglesias, debes entender el orden que Dios les habla: Primero, el Señor les habla sobre las cosas buenas que han hecho. Después, les muestra el área débil en que están fallando o que se han descuidado en su relación con Dios. Luego, les da unas palabras de corrección, mostrándoles lo que deben hacer para corregir el error. Y al final, la palabra de exhortación, mostrándoles la recompensa si ellos corrigen la falta.
De las siete iglesias, solo a dos el Señor no les da palabras de corrección ni las reprende pero a las otras sí porque ellas se caracterizan por estas acciones: se han mezclado con cosas paganas, comiendo lo que se ha sacrificado a los ídolos, tienen aceptación de doctrinas falsas y la inmoralidad sexual ha sido aceptada en la iglesia. El Señor los identifica como la doctrina de Balaam, Jezabel y Nicolaítas.

Esas son cosas que debemos evitar hoy en día. La decadencia espiritual en el ser humano hoy en día ha sido por su desenfreno en sus bajos deseos y falta de principios morales. Lastimosamente, esto existió en la iglesia de los tiempos de antes y también existe hasta la fecha de hoy. Guardemos nuestros hogares, manteniendo el pacto que hemos hecho con Dios de entregar nuestras vidas a Él. Inculquemos a nuestros hijos que, aunque el mundo acepte y normalice las acciones pecaminosas y los deseos desenfrenados y lo pinten como algo agradable, debemos guardar nuestro cuerpo de una vida promiscua, guardar nuestra mente de filosofías y creencias de hombres y no de Dios, y guardar nuestra alma de caer en trampas de avaricia, egocentrismo y arrogancia.

Pensemos en la recompensa que Dios ha prometido a aquellos que se aparten de estas cosas: Seremos librados de la ira venidera, recibiremos la vida eterna, disfrutaremos de las riquezas que Dios nos tiene preparadas y estaremos en la presencia de Dios para siempre.

August 27: Doctrines of evil

Revelation 2:8-21:
“And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, ‘These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” ’

“And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, ‘These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword: “I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” ’

“And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: “I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.


In the next two chapters we are going to learn about the recognized seven churches of Revelation. They are churches that existed in the time of John and that at the same time represents the spiritual state of any congregation or person in their relationship with God.
In this chapter we find the messages to the first four churches: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos and Thyatira; and in today's chapter I have read to you about the condition of 3 of them.
For you to understand the messages to these churches, you must understand the order that God speaks to them: First, the Lord speaks to them about the good things they have done. Then, He shows them the weak areas where they are failing or neglecting in their relationship with God. Later, He gives them a few correction words, showing them what they need to do to correct the mistake. And at the end, the word of exhortation, showing them the reward if they correct the fault.
Of the seven churches, only two the Lord does not give them words of correction or reprimand them, but the others He does because they are characterized by these actions: they have mixed with pagan things, eating what has been sacrificed to idols, they have acceptance of doctrines false and sexual immorality has been accepted in the church. The Lord identifies them as the doctrine of Balaam, Jezebel and Nicolaitans.

Those are things we must avoid nowadays. The spiritual decline in human beings nowadays has been due to their debauchery in their low desires and lack of moral principles. Unfortunately this existed in the church of old times and it also exists to this day. Let’s keep our homes, keeping the covenant we have made with God to surrender our lives to Him. Let’s instill in our children that, although the world accepts and normalizes sinful actions and unbridled desires and makes it pleasant, we must keep our bodies from a promiscuous life, keep our mind from philosophies and beliefs of men and not God, and keep our soul from falling into traps of greed, self-centeredness and arrogance.

Let's think about the reward that God has promised to those who turn away from these things: We will be rescued from the wrath to come, we will receive eternal life, we will enjoy the riches that God has in store for us, and we will be in God's presence forever.

Consider this:
Am I aware of the bad things that can seep into our spiritual lives and into our congregations?
