After the Appeal Court sacked Governor Kabir Yusuf as the duly elected governor of Kano State, all eyes were on the Supreme Court for possible validation or invalidation of the lower court judgment.
However, no one was prepared for what followed next.
A Certified True Copy of the appeallant court judgment as claimed by the Kano State Attorney General actually confirmed Governor Yusuf as the actual winner contrary to what the three-man panel read at the open court.
Addressing the situation, Umar Bangari, chief registrar of the court of appeal, said the purported discrepancy was a clerical error that did not affect the court’s decision.
