The guest host for today's show is Brad Bannon. Brad runs Bannon Communications Research, a polling, message development and media firm which helps labor unions, progressive issue groups and Democratic candidates win public affairs and political campaigns. His new show, 'Deadline D.C. with Brad Bannon,' airs every Monday from 3-4pm ET.

Brad is first joined by John Nichols, the National Political Correspondent for 'The Nation,' and Author of the new book, "The Fight for the Soul of the Democratic Party."  (Available for purchase here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/48624170-the-fight-for-the-soul-of-the-democratic-party)
John's Twitter handle is @NicholsUprising.

Here are the questions that Brad and John explore during the first half of the show:

1. What do the election results say about America in 2020?
2. President-Elect Biden won somewhat narrowly.  But, barring a win in both of Georgia's January runoff elections, Democrats failed to win the Senate, and lost House seats. Why did we not see more of a 'Blue Wave?'
3. President-Elect Biden says that his top two priorities are the pandemic and the economy.  Is that the right course to chart?
4. Exit polls indicate that President Trump had a huge advantage with Americans who voted on the economy. What can President-Elect Biden and Democrats do to fix this?
5. Can President-Elect Biden pass legislation for major structural change in the economy, climate change, and health care through a Republican controlled Senate?
6. Can Democrats win both runoff elections in Georgia to take control of the Senate?
During the second half of the show, Brad is joined by Jeneé Osterheldt, a Boston Globe culture columnist who covers identity and social justice through the lens of culture and the arts.

Brad is then joined by Jeneé Osterheldt for the second half of the show. Jeneé is a Boston Globe culture columnist who covers identity and social justice through the lens of culture and the arts.

Brad and Jeneé talk about the significance of Kamala Harris, both a woman and a person of color, being elected as Vice President of the United States.
They also discuss how a future Biden administration can work on addressing systemic racism in the U.S.

The Boston Globe is launching a new vertical curated by Jeneé called, "A Beautiful Resistance."
It is a series of stories about Black joy and Black lives. The aim is to amplify the truth of Black folk and other people of color living as their fullest selves in a region, in a country, set up to keep them from doing just that – their lives are more than police brutality and suffering. Black lives are a beautiful resistance, and the platform is providing the space for Black people to tell their stories in their own terms, because “even the most well-meaning white person will never tell our stories how we tell our stories.” A Beautiful Resistance, which features an Instagram channel (@abeautifulresistance), features videos, events and stories of blackness  – through stories and struggles of six people in New England, under the lens of love – launches on November 11.
