mostra másHost T.J. Rives and Dan Rafael, insider of BigFightWeekend.com are ready to go over everything that they saw in the "Day of Reckoning" PPV in Saudi Arabia Saturday.
Obvioulsy the upset loss for Deontay Wilder has immediately ended the proposed two fight deal for him to meet Anthony Joshua next and twice total. How and why did Wilder fail in his unanimous decision loss to Kiwi contender Jospeph Parker. The Alabama former WBC world heavyweight titleholder looked washed up at 38 years of age? Does he have a future? What does it mean for Parker in the upset?
As for Joshua, he won the final fight of the PPV with an impressive whipping of Otto Wallin in a TKO after round 5. The Brit Joshua, the former unified heavyweight champ, was everything that Wilder wasn't- agressive, putting punches together and busted up Wallin's face forcing the corner to stop the bout. Now, what does Joshua do next? Is it Croatian Filip Hrgovic, who's the IBF interim titleholder? The guys discuss.
They also go over the rest of the PPV with Dmitry Bivol's WBA lightheavyweight title win over Lyndon Arthur, Daniel Dubois scoring a redemptive TKO win over a badly out of shape Jarrell Miller. Plus, there's recaps of Jai Opetaia's one punch 1st round KO in his cruiserweight title fight and the rest of the card, too.
Then, the guys give a quick preview of the Tuesday undisputed 122 lb. title fight from Japan for hero Naoya "the Monster" Inoue against Martin Tapales of the Philippines. Inoue is looking for a second, four belt undisputed championship win in 12 months.
Thre's an update on legendary HBO boxing analyst Larry Merchant's health after he went to the hospital on Thursdsay. And, Dan has more on the return of England's Conor Benn coming to Las Vegas in February.
