Each year in the United States, RSV leads to approximately 2.1 million outpatient visits among children younger than 5 and up to 80,000 hospitalizations. Coming off of a particular brutal RSV season last year, many of us in pediatrics are feeling wary heading into this winter, however, hope is on the horizon as a new RSV vaccine hit the market this fall.
