mostra másYou will recall that part 1 opened with, "Krishna, how can I kill my kinfolk?"
In part 2, Krishna pivots away from the opening question ever so slightly to unfold the religious doctrine that created two popular world religions. While at the same time he applies tremendous pressure to Arjuna to comply.
In reply to Arjuna's question, he effectively says, "Arjuna, you're talking like a coward. Snap out of it." And then he explains reincarnation and meditation. The author of the Gita was skilled in that throughout the book he remained focused on the opening question, and yet he was able to use it to pivot into other topics that became the basis for two world religions. He used these other topics to turn up the heat influencing Arjuna to comply.
This is a great 2-for-1 study.
