John Gonzalez and Amy Sherman are co-hosts of "Behind the Mitten," a podcast about Michigan beer, food, festivals and the people who make it all happen! Today's episode (Feb. 12, 2015) finds Amy and John starting in Grand Rapids, where they go to Mitten Brewery where the brewers are getting ready for the Winter Beer Festival (Feb, 27-28, 2015 in GR). They also talk to co-owner Max Trierweiler about how the Brewery on Leonard Street is helping grow the community. He also has some Valentine's Day ideas. John also runs down some Fat Tuesday events at the B.O.B. (Feb. 17, 2015.) The downtown GR hot spot is planning a big Mardi Gras party, as well as a Fermenta event called Strange Brew with beer and coffee. Then John drives to Lansing to meet up with Paul Starr of I'm a Beer Hound, who is getting ready for the opening of HopCat Ann Arbor.
