Tonight our very special guest is Darren Duguay, we met at the 8@8 on a Saturday morning at the YMCA in Moncton while running. We learn that Darren served in the military for 27 years and we want to thank Darren for all his service. We talk about Darren and his Boston Marathon runs and how a total team commitment got everyone through to the end. Then we get onto the 2013 Boston marathon when the bombs went off and how that affected Darren and the rest of the team. A moment in time a person would probably never forget. After leaving the Canadian Forces Darren went on a different path and he asks us
some questions, such as how would an injury affect an individual or athlete, very interesting. Darren tells us that he was running in Kabul Afghanistan and sometimes while there it would get up as high as nearly 50 degrees celsius, Wow! Darren tells us he started running in his childhood and in his little community Darren faced a lot of trauma. While still young he was told he needed an inhaler because of his asthma. After a short period of time, Darren traded his inhaler for a pair of sneakers and that's where it all started. After the age of 45, Darren learned he was running to run away from his problems instead of facing them. The story Darren tells us is very inspiring and we believe everyone should listen and hear how a person overcame all to get to where he is today. There is no stopping Darren. We also get into Holistic fitness and Emotional Fitness ® and Darren explains this so well. He goes in-depth and part two is even more in-depth. Darren's talk is excellent and we hope
you enjoy listening to this episode and part two as much as we did recording it.
