On October 31st, 1994, police officers in the Apple Valley area near San Bernardino, California, received a call from two individuals who were out searching for rocks. They had found what appered to be a human skull which was part of a skeleton buried in a clandestine grave site with it's body wrapped in a plastic bag. It was that of a mixed-race female, 5'1" to 5'5" and anywhere from 25-55 years old. The body had been there for 18 months.
Two years later, on July 8th, 1996, two ranch hands were hunting for coyotes in the remote farmlands of Rio Visto, California, when they also found a human skeleton. This was another unidentified female 5'7" in her mid-30s and had been dead for six months.
And, finally, on March 29th, 1995, in Holt, California, some hippies scavenging for cans would find the skeleton of a 24-45-year-old woman, 5'8" and wearing very expensive clothes in a gold-tone Frigidaire refrigerator. She was referred to as "The Lady in the Fridge." While the first two women would come to be identified and their killers brought to justice years later, the identify of "The Lady in the Fridge" remains to be discovered and is still a mystery today.
