mostra másPacific Justice Institute’s (PJI) founder Brad Dacus joins Joe to discuss the legality of shutdowns during Coronavirus and questions why press rooms haven’t been shutdown?!?
Why aren’t churches considered an “essential” organization?
How do people file with the court during this shutdown? Brad says courts are not completely shutdown, so it’s still an option.
The press is still meeting in the press rooms. Why are they entitled to do that, but churches aren’t? In some areas police are arresting them for “gathering” even though they are abiding by required distancing laws. That’s a problem.
5th Circuit Court of Appeals has deemed abortion clinics non-essential during the shutdown. But that doesn’t affect the entire country.
Some over-zealous local legislators are trying to overstep religious freedom during this crisis. Those are the cases we are watching closely to ensure fairness and equal application of the laws.
