Candice seamlessly blends her ethereal vocals and lyrics and her command of numerous classic woodwinds while Ritchie traverses all matter of six-string instruments, from acoustic and electric guitar to mandolin, mandolas, hurdy gurdy, and nyckelharpa. Blackmore's Night was created to breathe new life into melodies from the 12th century to the 15th century by adding new lyrics and instrumentation. Their tours often include performances in castles with an 8 piece band as they play a wide variety of music from Renaissance to Rock to Folk and more. They wear costumes from another time and encourage their audience to join them in the journey by doing the same.

Candice first met Ritchie in 1989 while she (a Rainbow fan) was working at a Long Island radio station. They became a couple shortly thereafter and ultimately tied the knot in 2008. She has provided back-up vocals for Deep Purple and Rainbow among others. She is also responsible for co-writing 4 songs on Rainbow's "Stranger In Us All" release
