It's the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for October 12 and 13th, 2024. We’ve got 50 games on the schedule - highly ranked teams crashing into one another. No analysis, no breakdowns, just the scores. This one’s a little delayed since I was on the road, making my first trip to the Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minnesota.
 
We'll start with the women, and while there was a huge 1 vs. 3 matchup in the WCHA, but first, let’s give some stick taps to St. Michael's!
 
The Purple Knights grabbed their first win of the season by defeating Post 1-0, with Julia Chedel scoring her first career goal and it came on a third-period power play. It wasn’t just the only goal of the game, it was the first goal of the season for St. Michael’s as well. What also added to it? Jordana DeMarinis had 34 saves in net. It's also Meghan Sweezey's first win as head coach, and it breaks St. Michael's 38-game winless streak.
So much for no analysis. 
 
#1 Wisconsin dominated #3 Minnesota-Duluth 5-1 with Laney Potter scoring twice for the top-ranked Badgers. #4 Ohio State and #2 Minnesota played to a 1-1 tie, with Ohio State securing the shootout win and taking five out of six points in their WCHA matchup.
 
#5 Clarkson shut out Robert Morris 3-0, while RIT upset #7 Colgate 4-2, with Bronwyn Khangsar netting the game-winner, marking RIT's first win over Colgate since the 2013-14 season.
#8 St. Lawrence edged #15 Mercyhurst 2-1, while #9 UConn blanked New Hampshire 2-0, with Anna Segedi scoring the decisive goal in the final minutes. #11 St. Cloud State defeated Bemidji State 2-0, and #12 Penn State outscored Union 5-3. Boston University took down #13 Northeastern 4-0, and Boston College cruised past Holy Cross 5-1.
 
Merrimack topped Vermont 3-2, and Maine secured a 3-2 victory over Providence thanks to Courtney Colarullo’s late game-winner. Franklin Pierce needed overtime to edge Assumption 1-0, with Mikayla Kelley scoring the decisive goal. Stonehill beat LIU 3-2, and Sacred Heart shut out St. Anselm 4-0, RPI beat Syracuse 2-1 in overtime with Sophie Helgeson scoring the winner, and St. Thomas edged Minnesota State 3-2.
 
On Sunday, Maggie Scannell scored two goals to lift top-ranked Wisconsin past third-ranked Minnesota-Duluth go give the Badgers a sweep in WCHA action. Exhibition-wise, Brown topped McGill of Ontario 6-0.
 
On the men's side, #4 Michigan State edged #2 Boston College 4-3, with Daniel Russell’s third goal of the season coming late in the third period to give the Spartans the win and a series split against the Eagles.
 
#15 Omaha took the IceBreaker title in Las Vegas, defeating #5 Minnesota 2-1 in overtime, with Jacob Guevin scoring 54 seconds into OT and Simon Latkoczy making 52 saves for the Mavericks.
#3 Boston University defeated Union 4-1, with Alex Zetterberg and Cole Eiserman each netting their second goals of the year.  #6 North Dakota beat #13 Providence 5-2 in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game, with Dylan James scoring twice for the Fighting Hawks. #8 Quinnipiac edged Penn State 3-2, thanks to two goals from Jeremy Wilmer.
 
#9 Wisconsin salvaged a split with Lindenwood, winning 3-2 in overtime with Daniel Laatsch scoring with 18 seconds remaining. Arizona State and #10 Michigan tied 3-3, with the Sun Devils winning the shootout after Cullen Potter scored an improbable goal from beyond center ice to force OT.
#12 Colorado College rolled past Northern Michigan 6-1 with six different players scoring for the Tigers. #14 UMass beat Air Force 5-1 in the IceBreaker’s third-place game with two goals from Cole O’Hara. #16 St. Cloud State swept Bemidji State with a 3-2 victory, as Austin Burnavik capped off a five-point weekend. #17 Western Michigan topped Ferris State 5-1 with five different goal scorers. #18 Northeastern beat Stonehill 5-1, with Jack Williams scoring twice.
 
#19 Minnesota State cruised past Merrimack 4-1, and #20 Notre Dame rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat Clarkson 5-2, with Hunter Strand scoring the game-winner.
 
Elsewhere, UConn defeated Holy Cross 3-1, RIT bested Mercyhurst 4-2, and Michigan Tech edged Alaska 2-1. Miami beat Alaska-Anchorage 4-1, while Ohio State topped American International 5-2. New Hampshire needed overtime to defeat Bentley 2-1, with Nick Ring scoring the winner. LIU edged Augustana 3-2, and UMass Lowell earned a series split with Minnesota-Duluth, winning 4-1.
St. Lawrence beat Niagara 4-3 in overtime with Tomas Mazura scoring the game-winner. RPI defeated Canisius 6-3, while Sacred Heart and Colgate tied 3-3, with SHU winning in the shootout. St. Thomas defeated Vermont 3-1.
 
In exhibition action, #11 Maine shut out Army West Point 5-0, the USNTDP beat Robert Morris 3-2, and Lake Superior State topped Simon Fraser 4-1. On Sunday, Bowling Green beat Simon Fraser 4-1.
