Closing Session - "Experiencing the Heart of God" Online Retreat with David Hoffmeister & Frances Xu
After reading all the participant's prayers and questions, it became clear for Frances and David that there was a straightforward and practical solution to all of it, which is the attitude of giving.
We've been raised with the attitude of getting so that the body can survive. To the world, it sounds practical, reasonable, and rational, and giving is like, Oh yeah, you know if you have anything left on top, you can give to charity. But really, the key to happiness lies in giving.
Whenever we perceive a problem, a lack, or a painful situation when we tap into this giving attitude, which is, how can I give in this moment, there is an immediate switch to the spirits mindset. And then you start to look at your life and think what problem? So it's just very, very different.
