Dr. Caralyn Baxter is a physical therapist for US Ski and Snowboard team. She is based out of Park City, UT and spends roughly a third of the year traveling with the US Freeski Halfpipe team to domestic and international competitions. Most recently, Dr. Baxter wrapped up a trip to XGames 2018 in Aspen, CO, and will be traveling to PyeongChang, South Korea next week for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
Dr. Baxter completed Evidence in Motion’s year-long concussion management certification in 2016. Following this program, Dr. Baxter partnered with Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher and implemented the first sports neurology pre-participation exams for the US Freeski Halfpipe Team. This practice will go company-wide for the 2018-19 season.
Additionally, Dr. Baxter has served as a guest lecturer on concussion rehabilitation at the University of Utah and presented at the 2017 Medical Emergencies in Skiing and Snowboarding conference. She also has a welsh corgi named Cormac.
