"Sticky Change" loved it. I'm energized by Jen's and Quentin's open exchange of experience that addressed my lingering thoughts on some things that bump up against each other, such as reward systems and traditions and the difficult task of questioning and addressing/managing exclusivity. Entering my 34th year as a faculty member, I've witnessed the "wear and tear" that comes with something lived in for a while. Program, brick, and mortar stuff Mercersburg has always been under some "small and big dig;" referring to change to academic and residential programs down to the trench to lay or fix/maintain the mechanical infrastructure. Quentin often uses the one cracked egg in the dozen when it comes to families considering the investment of an independent school education. It's a thought that haunts/lingers so much that when I encounter a carton of eggs with a cracked egg or two, I'll put it in the trolly without fanfare. My way of accepting my own imperfections? With all the mentions made in the podcast - Katie Titus, encouraging, "What are you going to do about it?" was my sticky-change moment and moments to come. Thanks, Jen.
