Monotheism: The belief that there is one God
Polytheism: The belief in many gods
Atheism: The belief that there is no god.
 
Trinity:
The orthodox Christian teaching is that we believe in one God who is three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
They are of the same substance; they are co-equal and co-eternal. God is tri-personal.
The Trinity is a systematic doctrine which is revealed in Scripture.
 
Terms for God in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament):
Yahweh is the personal name of the Hebrew God who is creator of all things
El, or Elohim means God, gods, or divine being
Adonai means Lord
If the Hebrew is Yahweh (the name of God) they will translate it LORD
LORD = Yahweh
If the Hebrew is Adonai (lord) then they will just use the word Lord
Lord = Adonai
If the Hebrew is El or Elohim they will use God
God = El, Elohim
