Savior of the World - Worldview Wednesday
Wisdom - the final frontier to true knowledge. Welcome to Wisdom-Trek! Where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1286 of our Trek, and it is Worldview Wednesday. Creating a Biblical Worldview is important to have a proper perspective on today’s current events. To establish a Biblical Worldview, it is required that you also have a proper understanding of God and His Word. Since this episode will be aired on Christmas Day, we will take a break this week for a special Christmas message and then return to our series on Mastering the Bible next Wednesday. Today we will consider:
Savior of the World
The Father loves you so much that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to our world to show you His love. The goal of God's love is our salvation — salvation FROM sin and death, as well as salvation FOR a life of blessing, purpose, and meaning.
I know it's hard to believe that a little child in a manger could be the Savior of the world. But that is who Jesus is. He was born into a Jewish family, with Jewish ancestry, and in fulfillment of Jewish hopes and dreams. He came to bring God's blessings to God's chosen people, the Jews. But, He also came for you, whether you are Jewish or not. God's love is for all the people of the world, no matter their cultural background, heritage, language, or ethnicity. Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, this was said about Jesus Christ right before His birth:
He is a light to reveal God to the nations,
and he is the glory of your people Israel!”
(Luke 2:32)
So when you think of Jesus in the manger and celebrate His coming, remember that the great I AM is not only the Savior of the world, but He also came to be your personal Savior, too!
The Father didn't just say He loves you; He showed it by sending Jesus to be your Savior!
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
(John 3:16-17)
Jesus is your Savior, the sinless sacrifice Who is your Defender and Advocate in heaven. But remember, as important as you are to Jesus, He made this sacrifice for others also, even those who don't know Him. So please let them know this story of grace! My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
(1 John 2:1-2)
Jesus’s love is not complete until it comes alive in you and is shared with others.
We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
(1 John 4:16)
Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!” When they came out to see him, they begged him to stay in their village. So he stayed for two days, long enough for many more to hear his message and believe. Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not just because of what you told us,
