For the best results in conducting this test, please use ear-buds or stereo headphones so that you can hear the tones playing separately in each of your ears.

[IMPORTANT: Depending on the type of headphones you are using and the settings of your audio player, the sounds may not seem to be exclusively in one ear or the other when played by themselves, but you will still experience the effect when both sounds are played.]

Behold! A 1-minute demonstration of binaural beats at work. You will hear a tone in one ear by itself, followed by a slightly different tone in the other ear. Then, both tones will play together in both ears and it is then you will experience the hallucination of sound known as a binaural beat.

The binaural hallucination you hear will have a beat of 3.7-Hz. This is because one tone is 302.5-Hz minus 298.8-Hz equals 3.7-Hz.
