Hrithik Roshan's Mr. A opens the film by skydiving onto a train dressed as Queen Elizabeth II, and Dhoom 2 never comes back down. Sanjay Gadhvi's sequel makes the master thief the hero in all but name, brings in Aishwarya Rai as his rival and partner and Bipasha Basu as a cop with a past, and leaves Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra's Jai and Ali in support. It has less action than the first film and more style in every frame, down to a dialogue scene shot like a music video on a basketball court in the rain.
The Bollywood Cinema Club's Chris Stachiw, the Doctor of Podcasting, and Richard Hatem (screenwriter and producer) talk Hrithik's charisma and dancing, Aishwarya's Sunehri as the only character who makes a real choice, the charged chemistry between Jai and Mr. A, musical numbers as a tonal reset, how the Nolan Batman films drained the fun out of Western action, and what Dhoom 3 might bring.
