December 23: Garments of Salvation and Rejoicing.

Psalms 130:3-8:
If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared. I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning— yes, more than those who watch for the morning. O Israel, hope in the Lord; for with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption. And He shall redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.

Psalms 131:1-3:
Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, nor with things too profound for me. Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forever.

Psalms 132:8-16:
Arise, O Lord, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength. Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let Your saints shout for joy. For Your servant David’s sake, do not turn away the face of Your Anointed. The Lord has sworn in truth to David; He will not turn from it: “I will set upon your throne the fruit of your body. If your sons will keep My covenant and My testimony which I shall teach them, their sons also shall sit upon your throne forevermore.” For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place:
“This is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread. I will also clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.


Continuing with the psalms that were sung on the way to Jerusalem, we find in these psalms that the writer used many examples of everyday actions to demonstrate his dependence and complete trust in the Lord.
We already looked at the example of the servant and maid with their lord and mistress in Psalm 123.
Now, in Psalm 130, we see the example that, as sentinels who are awake at night and on alert, so was the trust of the psalmist and his longing for the presence and power of God. He knew that if God judged us for our faults, no one would stand; it is better to wait on God, because the Lord looks at us and forgives us.

In Psalm 131 the writer also expressed his dependence on the Lord and showed the humble way in which he approaches the Lord. He didn't want to step out of bounds and fail the Lord. He gave the example of a child with his mother: dependent, sensitive; listen to her voice and feel calm and relief when he is heartbroken.

Psalm 133 is very special because it describes how God in His love and perfect will chose the descendants of King David to be a dynasty of kings of Israel and not just any dynasty, because God promised that they would be an eternal descendant! Someone who was a descendant of the lineage of the tribe of Judah and of Jesse's son David would always sit on the throne.
Therefore, when God came to this world He came through two human beings who were descendants of the tribe of Judah and David: Joseph and Mary.
It also highlights the joy God felt when David set out with all his might and with extreme passion to build a temple to the Lord. That is why God promised to greatly bless everyone who enters the temple, that He will anoint His priests with salvation and that all will worship the Lord with joy.
Approach the Lord to adore Him, and thus He will cover you with salvation and fill you with joy.

Diciembre 23: Vestiduras de Salvación y Júbilo.

Salmos 130:3‭-‬8 RVA2015:
Oh SEÑOR, si tienes presente los pecados, ¿quién podrá, oh Señor, mantenerse en pie? Pero en ti hay perdón para que seas reverenciado. Yo espero en el SEÑOR; mi alma espera. En su palabra he puesto mi esperanza. Mi alma espera al SEÑOR más que los centinelas a la mañana; sí, más que los centinelas a la mañana. Oh Israel, pon tu esperanza en el SEÑOR, porque en el SEÑOR hay misericordia y en él hay abundante redención. Él redimirá a Israel de todos sus pecados.

Salmos 131:1‭-‬3 RVA2015:
Oh SEÑOR, no se ha envanecido mi corazón ni mis ojos se han enaltecido ni he andado en pos de grandezas ni de cosas demasiado sublimes para mí. Más bien, he sosegado y acallado mi alma como un niño destetado al lado de su madre. Como un niño destetado está mi alma dentro de mí. Espera, oh Israel, en el SEÑOR desde ahora y para siempre.

Salmos 132:8‭-‬16 RVA2015:
Levántate, oh SEÑOR; ven al lugar de tu reposo; tú y el arca de tu poder. Tus sacerdotes sean revestidos de justicia, y tus fieles canten de júbilo. Por causa de tu siervo David, no rechaces el rostro de tu ungido. Con verdad juró el SEÑOR a David, y no se apartará de ello: “Del fruto de tu cuerpo pondré sobre tu trono. Si tus hijos guardan mi pacto y este testimonio que yo les enseño, sus hijos también se sentarán en tu trono para siempre”. Porque el SEÑOR ha elegido a Sion y la ha deseado como morada suya: “Este es mi lugar de reposo para siempre. Aquí habitaré porque lo he deseado. Lo bendeciré con abundante provisión; a sus necesitados saciaré de pan. Asimismo, vestiré de salvación a sus sacerdotes, y sus fieles darán voces de júbilo.


Continuando con los salmos que cantaban de camino hacia Jerusalén, encontramos en estos salmos que el escritor usó muchos ejemplos de acciones del diario vivir para demostrar su dependencia y total confianza en el Señor.
Ya miramos el ejemplo del criado y criada con su señor y señora en el salmo 123.
Ahora, en el salmo 130, vemos el ejemplo de que, como centinelas que están despiertos en la noche y en estado de alerta, así mismo era la confianza del salmista y su anhelo de la presencia y el poder de Dios. Él sabía que si Dios nos juzgara por nuestras faltas, nadie estaría en pie; es mejor esperar en Dios, pues el Señor nos mira y nos perdona.

En el salmo 131 el escritor también expresó su dependencia en el Señor y mostró la forma humilde con que se acerca al Señor. Él no quería salirse de sus límites y fallarle al Señor. Él puso el ejemplo de un niño con su madre; dependiente, sensible; escucha la voz de ella y siente calma y alivio cuando está desconsolado.

El salmo 133 es muy especial porque describe cómo Dios en su amor y perfecta voluntad escogió a la descendencia del rey David para que sea un dinastía de reyes de Israel y no cualquier dinastía, pues ¡Dios prometió que sería una descendencia eterna! Siempre se sentaría en el trono alguien que fuera descendiente del linaje de la tribu de Judá y del hijo de Isaí, David.
Por eso, cuando Dios vino a este mundo vino por medio de dos seres humanos que eran descendientes de la tribu de Judá y de David: José y María.
También remarca la alegría que Dios sintió cuando David se propuso con todas sus fuerzas y con extremada pasión por construir un templo al Señor. Por eso Dios prometió bendecir grandemente a todo aquel que entrara al templo, que ungirá de salvación a sus sacerdotes y que todos adorarán al Señor con júbilo.
Acércate al Señor para adorarle, y así Él te cubrirá de salvación y te llenará de gozo.

Hoy solo he leído una porción de estos salmos, así que no olvides leerlo en su totalidad.
