On February 18,2021, a Brookhaven police officer spotted a pedestrian crossing the busy Peachtree Road in Brookhaven, Ga. The officer stopped to talk to the man, who appeared to be agitated and in a rush. The officer asked for his identification to check, but the suspect started to walk away.A backup officer followed the suspect and asked him to step out of a McDonald's to talk.The officer called the supervisor and advised him that he had a display of taser on the last call. He advised that if the offender was disorderly then the male needed to be arrested.The officers located the suspect just up the street and attempted to detain him, but he resisted arrest. After a brief struggle, the suspect was finally arrested and charged with obstruction of law enforcement officers and disorderly conduct.The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers police officers face every day while trying to keep the community safe.
