This week on the show I am joined by Dr. Andy Jacks. Dr. Jacks is a nationally distinguished principal, and former Virginia Principal of the Year. I heard Andy on an episode of Vicki Davis' 10 Minute Teacher Podcast and was so impressed by some of his ideas for dealing with students who always get in trouble that I knew I needed to invite him on the show.



Andy and I talk about change at schools and how to lead change, his no suspension philosophy for his students, how one-size-fits-all discipline is negatively affecting our students, how we still don't know the goal of education, how we need to stop assuming the things our kids know, especially in relation to self-regulation and working skills, and the importance of learning from the teachers around us now, especially as a school leader.
