Hello everyone and welcome to The Education Revolution! I’m your host, Dr. Michelle Sengara and whether it’s your first time joining us today, or you’re a regular in this revolutionary...
mostra másAs many of you have heard me say over the years… Education is everywhere, it’s in our homes, our workplaces, and of course our schools. Each of us are teachers in life, and each of us are capable of learning and together we have the potential to create positive and purposeful change in the systems of education that surround us.
With us today in the trenches, is… Dr. Natalie Joy Davey!
Natalie has spent 20 years in public education, both at the secondary and higher ed levels, and is currently teaching at Yorkville University in their Faculty of Education. Natalie's doctoral research focused on the educational experiences of youth in detention and for the last six years she has expanded that focus to include the care of both youth and teachers operating in the systems of education. She co-hosts the podcast Reframeables and as VP of Partnerships for Ceres Productions she approaches projects with one key question in mind: "What learning needs reframing here and how can we find joy in the process?" Her writing has appeared in publications like Chatelaine and Today’s Parent and her forthcoming book, Finding Joy: Radical Collegiality and Relational Pedagogies of Care in Education will be out with Brill Press this coming May.
