In Episode 44, host Aalia Lanius and Kent Speakman discuss the constant change and growth of the media and television industry, and the critical role of socially conscious media in this pandemic. In a world where everyone is stuck at home consuming media all day, creating content for social good has never been more important, and no one knows that better than innovative producer and philanthropist, Kent. With the sudden change from live events to online streaming, Speakman shares how his work at KNEKT TV, a production company he started with the aim of bringing awareness to socially conscious content, was forced to adapt to the "new normal" (6:22). But Speakman was not alone in this. He notes how socially conscious media has become more and more popular over recent months, and how it has become cool to care about issues (21:52).
