In this episode of Feed for Thought we speak to Dr. Anisha Thanki from the University of Leicester about the use of bacteriophages and their potential in livestock farming.
The feed industry is being viewed as a great future partner for the use of phages in livestock production, so we spoke about developments in this field, why animal feed is a great way to transfer the phages to the animal, some of the challenges we may encounter and when we might see phages being used on commercial farms.
We also get a news round-up from our Editor-in-Chief Simon Duke to keep you up to date on all the animal nutrition and feed industry’s top stories from the past few weeks.
If you would like to talk to Anisha Thanki about this subject or potential collaborations you can contact her on at263@leicester.ac.uk or Professor Martha Clokie the research group leader on mrjc1@leicester.ac.uk.
