In this episode of Becoming with Angelina Watkins, Angelina interviews Marquita Green

Marquita grew up in west Philadelphia in low-income housing. Not many people from her neighborhood went anywhere beyond high school, and if they graduated from high school there were no role models to share on how to dream bigger and follow your dreams. Marquita’s mother wanted to ensure she received an education; therefore, she placed her outside of the neighborhood in another school district. This allowed her to see something different, which would be a good thing, but she struggled with fitting in.

She would go on to college where she would further struggle with not fitting in and feelings of loneliness. On the outside she looked great, but inwardly she was shut down and her grades were spiraling. She would later be diagnosed with functional depression. But that did not stop her. Marquita knew she had to overcome depression; therefore, she found an outlet which was journaling.

While on this journey Marquita would eventually go to law school and become a laywer. It is her work as an attorney and helping women that would propel her into her purpose of transformation lives. Her inspiration to help women reach their full potential stemmed from witnessing women go through ups and downs in court. She became determined to encourage and empower other women to soar into their purpose in their next destination.

Marquita Green Motivates you to SOAR. She was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and in 2006 relocated to Tallahassee, Florida to attend law school. Florida continues to be her home, which she shares with her husband and their daughters. Marquita is a servant leader who is passionate about seeing women reach their full potential and helps to push women into their purpose through her Transform and Soar Academy. She is also the co-owner of ReGroup4Change LLC, helping married couples to rapidly strengthen their marriage and their money. Marquita is the author of the “SOAR Journal”, co-author of “Girl, Let's Get Over It Together”, and co-author of "How Our Savings Went from $0k to $40k."
