What is natural family planning? What is fertility awareness? Why are there so many names for cycle tracking?

A woman’s body gives her signs when she is ovulating. Natural family planning / fertility awareness is about knowing these signs, keeping track of them, and then using that information. Natural family planning can be used for avoiding pregnancy naturally and effectively, for optimizing timing for achieving pregnancy, or for monitoring your health.

There are multiple fertility awareness methods that teach women to track one or more signs of ovulation. Learning a method from a certified instructor is going to give you the most accurate information and help you be the most confident in using your chosen method to achieve your family planning and/or health goals.
