Conversion is an exodus from what was to what will be and the Trinity fosters that pilgrimage through the gentle encouragement of the Father, in the exemplar of the Son and with the fortification of the gifts of the Spirit. In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the action of the Trinity becomes evident as the penitent who leaves sin behind is elevated to a deeper communion of friendship in the Trinity. September 6, 2017.
