Topic: (Doing/Enabling vs Helping/Supporting)
Featuring special guest Alaina Phelps, Licensed Family Therapist for the Robert Alexander Center for Recovery in Mount Washington, KY.
This episode is focused on teaching families the difference between Doing/Enabling vs Helping/Supporting. The conversation highlights how Doing/Enabling without permission is counterproductive to the patient’s recovery process. We also discuss ways in which helping and supporting loved ones can be conducive and beneficial to not just their recovery but aiding in restoring the broken familial relationships impacted by the disease of addiction.
