In 1981, one of Charleston’s most eligible bachelorettes, Mary Lynn Witherspoon, would meet Edmonds Tennent Brown III and his two children. The relationship would blossom and flourish, but things would not be picture perfect for the couple except not for the reason most would think. Edmond’s son, Tennent, and Mary Lynn’s daughter, Jane, could not get along, which put a strain on Mary Lynn and Edmond’s relationship.
There were also some very noticeable and strange behaviors from Tennent that Mary Lynn would talk about with her friends.

The relationship would end for Mary Lynn and Edmond, but it would not be the last time she saw Tennent who would become her stalker. Mary Lynn would endure 22 years of living in terror because of the mental torture Tennent would put her through and it would not stop there.
