Fritz Howard is the man behind the brand Melanzana. From humble beginings in 1994 living in a Teepee and a small shop off main street with a few sewing machines and a vision to create, Fritz founded Eggplant Mountain Gear. To his surprise in those first years people came in a bought his hand made products. Fast forward 24 years later and Melanzana has become one of the most popular brands for through hikers and mountain enthusiasts world wide.
