Cecil Miller was born on December 8, 1937 in a farmhouse in Indiana. He had three siblings and was the youngest member of the household. He can still recall a few memories of home. When World War II broke out, he could still recall airplanes flying in formation and the frequent blackouts. His father was worried that the draft board my enlist him because they were only tenant farmers. The rest of Cecil's story can be read in his book. Throughout the text of his book, he used the male gender but according to him, the person on either side of the mic-to-mic communications may be female because, in aviation, there is no gender differentiation. This book covers the history of aviation, aviators and behind-the-scenes
life of air traffic controllers. It kicks off with the triumph of the Wright
brothers, the early days of the airplane and manufacturing, the dawn of air
traffic control and airmail, the war hero pilots, the test pilots, the
experimental aircraft, the jet age, the century series aircraft, the first
airlines, and the race to outer space!
