mostra másThe Honchos made their triumphant return to the airwaves with the always exciting Atonement Show on the eve of Yom Kippur. Boy do they have to do a lot of atoning. After some TV talk and a recap of the Honchos finally being in the same place together, attention was paid to headlines around the world with stories about underwear thieves and killer hot dogs.
The Honchos ripped open the sack of sports with some college football talk, including tectonic shifts in conference alignments, the firing of Clay Helton at USC, and whether Ohio State's loss or Notre Dame's too close for comfort win was the bigger deal this season.
The NHL/NBA/MLB segment was brief, but meaningful, as the Honchos discussed the NHL returning to the Olympics in 2022 (if we are not at war), the pennant races and wild card races heating up in the MLB, and the retirement of Ryan Braun.
The NFL Recap was back and better than ever now that real live games are underway at last. After a quick recap of highlights of last week's games, football yak focused on the continuing saga of Deshaun Watson, Josh Gordon, Larry Fitzgerald, the Bills requiring vaccinations at home games, and a review of the debut of the Manning brothers on Monday Night Football. There was even an OJ story. Talk about atonement . . .
The show ended as it always does with the Dope of the Week. This week's winner was Brian Kelly, head football coach at the University of Notre Dame.
