In Episode 4 of the 'Health at Work' podcast series, we explore 'social prescribing', which is the term used for the creation of a personalised plan of social activity to support an individual's recovery from ill health or their general health and wellbeing. We evaluate the theory behind social prescribing and discuss the role Occupational Health could play. We also consider benefits to employers- such as reductions in absence and presenteeism- if they included it as part of their health and wellbeing strategy.
