Trail running is becoming a big thing here in the province. With the east coast trail going down our eastern shore of the Avalon with hundreds of kilometers of challenging terrain and similar scenes emerging all across the province I though it was time to learn more. People are running all year round now on these trails and we all know about the amazing participation in the teleten each year so it’s a topic that is familiar to many of us.

You might have heard of Dan Meades. He was actualyy paralzyed by an autoimmune condition called guillian barret syndrome about 7 years ago. He had to relearn how to walk and move and now is running over 100kms in a single race. He is business person, social activist, lululemon ambassador and a coach for the run experience so he was the perfect person to chat with about what trail running is and how people can get started. Of course as a wellness show we have to balance all that great activity with a touch of injury prevention so I reached out to Cillian Harnet who is a physiotherapist at Villanova physiotherapy whose recent blog post called 3 tips to help prevent injuries in runners caught my attention.
