I'm not a curmudgeon. I am well aware of how we act and react because how we wear our lives on the edge of our sleeves. One of my pet peeves is the amazing way that we love to paste onto our Facebook page how much we need prayer. Wait! Are you praying for me? Are you praying for others other than your circle of need? On this podcast we take on that subject. I need prayer. It's like walking up to a comedian and saying, "Make me laugh!" They don't work that way. In fact it makes them feel incredibly uncomfortable. As if you don't respect their gift of comedy. Prayer is no different. People I don't truly know wanting to use the belief. Is it selfish to ask, "Are you praying for me?" We all have crap lives! We all face challenges and changes and need that added push to get us through this hour. All I'm saying is stop praying for someone and start praying with them. There is a huge difference between the two. If we are close enough for you to shout out, "Pray for me!" Call me and lets pray together. About two years ago I woke up to this oddness of human need and behavior. The preacher man said "Lets pray to God." No! No! No! I'll pray with God because it feels more like a true relationship rather than a job. I've got to pray. Stop the day. I've got to pray. You don't have to do anything. Praying with is the connection. When someone on Facebook calls out for prayer I write to them and gently say, "I'll pray with you." 98.9999% of the time I never hear from them. You want me to pray for you but you won't pray with me. I'm lost! What is the value of Facebook prayer? Is it truly a method of bringing the universe closer to your situation or just a personal need to advertise that you're moving through a storm?
