About Raven Isabor: Raven Irabor is a highly acclaimed Pan-African image maker, curator, and model based between New York City and Los Angeles. With a unique perspective on identity, space, and culture within the African Diaspora, Raven's work transcends traditional boundaries and offers a fresh take on fashion image making. Born and raised in the Bronx to immigrant Trinidadian & Nigerian parents, Raven's multicultural upbringing and extensive engagement with media, film, fashion, and the arts have provided her with invaluable insights into the complexities of culture from both local and global perspectives. Drawing inspiration from elements of African Diasporic culture, Raven's stylistic directorial approach captures the essence of her subjects, honing in on the mood, stories, and characters within her visuals.

Her unique style blends afro surrealist & magical realism aesthetics with a soft feminine approach, resulting in captivating fashion films and visual projects that resonate with audiences and ignite dialogue among Black creatives and brands. As a Creative Producer, Raven has worked with inspiring creatives to produce groundbreaking projects that push the boundaries of visual expression and Pan African storytelling. Her work on the web series "Lea the Late Bloomer" garnered official selections from four notable festivals and was praised by Shadow & Act as one of the best Black web series of 2019. The series was picked up in 2019 for streaming on iOne’s new digital platform, A Space for Creators. She was also part of the research team on “The Remix: Hip Hop x Fashion” which was awarded Best Documentary at several film festivals across America and streamed on Netflix. Alongside her producing roles, Raven co-founded The Roux, a creative collective dedicated to empowering Black artists and creatives through community building and art showcases. She has produced original content for Blavity and The Folklore, highlighting artists and creatives of the African Diaspora, and has collaborated with major brands like Paramount to create activations centered around Black joy.

Her commitment to fostering inclusivity and amplifying marginalized voices is evident in her ongoing efforts to provide opportunities and resources within the artistic community. Raven's dedication to equity is further exemplified by her role as a marketing and creative strategist for the live performance "(Don't) Use Me." This thought-provoking performance explores racial and gender pay gaps while empowering Black women to reclaim their lost time. Her commitment towards equity, Black liberation, and community building is further reflected in her long-term goal to open a multi-functional creative studio in Harlem, New York, that prioritizes community and provides opportunities for artists of the African Diaspora to showcase their art and access much-needed resources.

Raven's artistic endeavors have garnered recognition from prestigious platforms such as the Los Angeles Fashion Film Festival, Neu Neu Media, Vogue UK, New Inc, Gen-Zine, Miami Web Fest, and A.R.T.S.Y Magazine, among others. Her work stands as a testament to her ability to bridge the gap between the realms of Hollywood, the gallery, and the runway, captivating audiences in each medium. In addition to her work as a filmmaker and curator, Raven also explores the world of modeling, leveraging her background in dance to bring a unique perspective to her practice. Using herself as a muse, she creates conceptual pieces that transcend mere fashion, resembling portraiture and allowing her to express herself and reflect upon the world around her.

Raven's educational background, which includes a degree in Television-Radio-Film with a concentration in Fashion & Beauty Communications from Syracuse University's S.I Newhouse School of Public Communications and a Graphic Design Certificate from Parsons School of Design at The New School, combined with her vision and connections within the Diaspora, makes her both an inspiration within creative expression and a key player pushing for social change in our society.

From her role as the youngest judge at the inaugural FashFilmFete in Phoenix, Arizona, to her exploration of Caribbean womanhood in her upcoming short film She Island, Raven continues to push boundaries, inspire others, and make a lasting impact on those she comes across.
