However, it's essential to note that such cases are exceptions, and the majority of high-ranking positions in Mexican cartels are still held by men.

Some women have exploited societal expectations and stereotypes to operate discreetly, as law enforcement agencies and rival cartels may be less likely to suspect or scrutinize women in certain roles. This ability to fly under the radar has contributed to the success of some female leaders in the criminal underworld.

The rise of female bosses in Mexican cartels has also led to shifts in power dynamics and internal structures. In some cases, women have taken over leadership roles after the arrest or elimination of male counterparts. This adaptability and resilience highlight the fluid nature of cartel operations, where individuals, regardless of gender, vie for power and control.
