Sharemilking has long been popular in New Zealand. Under this arrangement, a farmer lets another one use his land, his buildings and sometimes his cows in exchange for a share of the profit from the milk.
At a Macra Na Feirme discussion on sharemilking in Portlaise, Aisling Hussey met a couple from New Zealand who started off with zero investment and now own their herd of 310 cows and a third of their land.
