Something occurred to me while driving to the studio this morning. During times of challenge and change. Upon the moments we can't explain. Not sometimes but most of the time. We're comforted by the warmth of our pets. The unconditional. Hard to explain. Companionship. That not sometimes but most of the time. Brings more peace to our wandering souls than anything else on the planet. Thirteen years ago. I can't imagine the number of dogs and cats that were hugged too tightly. The birds and hamsters that heard words from the human stick figure that came across as being filled with fear rather than comfort. Thirteen years ago today. God looked into the eyes of the worried traveler. Something completely human had just taken place. I can't imagine what God's email box looked like. Nor can I imagine the number of dogs, cats, fish, rabbits and birds of prey. Reported to work that day. God set a message: I need all angels on deck.
Something occurred to me while driving to the studio this morning. The angels that kept us wrapped within the spirit of security. Aren't probably with us anymore. The 13th season after the raging storm could very well be one of the first without the fuzzy little kisses that said, "I've got your back human." They've been replaced by other pets that have no clue what took place.... This day. On September 11, 2001.
So today. Not for selfish reasons. But to help teach.
